Following a spike in active cases due to the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government has announced odd-even vehicle rationing system in Kathmandu valley from Saturday, 12 am, until further notice. A meeting of the CDOs of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur held today decided to impose the odd-even vehicle rationing system under the Smart Lockdown Modality.This includes the movement of both private two-wheelers and four-wheelers, and public vehicles. Vehicles with even plates (0,2,4,6 and 8) will be allowed on even dates going by the Nepali calendar while odd plates (1,3,5,7 and 9) will be allowed on odd dates.The odd-even formula for movement of vehicles shall not apply to vehicles deployed for emergency services.
